Missionary Report Dear Pastor and Church, September 20, 2007
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! It is our hope that everything is well in your family and church. Thank you for your prayers and financial support.
Report Through Today Praise God for your faithfulness. God has bestowed His abundant blessings upon us during our travels. As of today, we have visited 65 churches in 10 different states (Texas, Kentucky, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, New Mexico, and California) and have traveled over 24,000 miles preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. At each location we have presented our burden and vision to arrive in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco in January of 2008. Of the 65 churches, 14 already support us, 9 have promised to help, 4 are going to pray, 7 are now planning to send support, 3 new churches have already begun to support us, and 28 have given no response. Glory to God our present support is at 42% and we have confidence in our great God that by January of 2008 we will have arrived at 100%.
The Soulwinning Conference and Vacation Bible School at Shining Light Baptist Church Amongst our travels, we had the great privilege to organize and put on, in the month of July, a soulwinning conference in our home church of Shining Light Baptist in Mission, Texas. Evangelist Daniel Garlick, Pastor Marco Tulio Meija and Bro. Jorge Briones, Jr. (a student of West Coast Baptist College) participated in the conference that served as a great encouragement and blessing to the church. In addition to the conference, we also organized and hosted a Vacation Bible School in the same church several days later. God showered us with blessings, and by the week’s conclusion we had seen 34 souls saved and an attendance of 154 children and adults. This has resulted in the formation of a Youth Club — a new ministry of Shining Light Baptist Church.
The Work in Tapalpa: 2ndAnniversary and Missions Conference 2007 While traveling on the roads of the United States, we do not forsake praying for and helpingMisión Bautista Faro De Luz in Tapalpa. Every 2 to 3 months throughout the year I have had the privilege to visit the brothers in the Mission with the purpose of encouraging them to continue forward with their Lord Jesus Christ. During the most recent trip in September, a person was saved during a regular preaching service. Praise God! Also, the Mission in Tapalpa is now supporting two Mexican missionaries. October 29-31, Lord willing, we will celebrate the mission’s 2nd anniversary with the Missions Conference 2007. Pray for it to be a great blessing to the brothers in Tapalpa and that it will be used to reach souls. Also, pray for the preaching and teaching of doctrine and missionary training in the southern part of Jalisco.
We Continue Here until December 31st of 2007 At the moment we are in southern California presenting our burden and ministry. We plan to go up north to visit churches in northern California, Oregon, and Washington. Pray that the Lord will protect us as we travel, supply our needs, and that more churches will help with monthly support.
For the service of our Lord, Jorge Briones Acts 20:24

The best of wishes to the church and Pastor from the Briones Family
Thanks to God we have had the opportunity to continue knocking on doors and visiting with some more families receptive to the gospel. One of the last families that accepted Christ though Door to door visitation, who are now brethren in Christ, Carmen and Edward Cervantes, They listen to the Word attentively and Joyfully at what Christ had done in their lives. We are continuing to pray that the Lord keep this family faithful.
Praise the Lord for the door God has opened for us in allowing us to start a Kids Club here in Tapalpa. Through the grace of God the"Embassador of Christ" Bible club. Every day it seems to grow more and more. In the beginning there were only three children now there are more than 20 children in attendance.
We have learned a lot through the Kids Club, for that reason we prayed for a Bible Club for the teens as well. God has blessed and we now have a Bible Club for the youth as well. In the last meeting we had, we spoke about PURITY, a very important subject for the young people of today. Through God's Grace, we now have 5 girls and 1 boy in attendance.
A basic need that we are seeing is the need for a transportation ministry. Here in Tapalpa there are very few in or out of town who have a means of transportation neither is there a public transportation system in place. There is a bus station for traveling outside of the area but nothing in town. Because of this fact, it is an honor to step into this branch of the ministry with the purpose in mind to take out groups of soul winners to win the lost to Christ.
We are currently serving 4 families a total of 20 people with our van. Please pray for this branch of the ministry that the Lord provide us with at least 2 more vans.
Every Sunday and Monday from 9 to 10am we visit the local prison here in Tapalpa. We tell the people there about what Christ has done for them. We have seen anoth 6 young people and adults accept Christ.
God has opened yet another door for us in the Bethany Childrens Home (It's about 45 minutes from Tapalpa) to preach the gospel to the abandoned a dihabilitaed children there. Please pray that we see souls saved.
Praise the Lord for Sister Lupita Briones she has also been busy in the work of the Lord. She not only works with the childrens and youth meeting but has also taken the opportunity to join a womens group ina a comunity named ATACO located here in Tapalpa. Though the meeting we have seen several profesions of faith and will soon begin Bible studies with them.
One of the basic tools that a mission or church can use to grow is Sunday School and Discipleship. At this moment at the Shining Light Mission we have 18 new believers who are current enrolled in our discipleship program (The First Steps to Christian Growth).
In the end there has been so many blessing we have been able to share with you. Thank You for your faithful prayers and your financial support. God Bless you all!
Pastor Jorge Briones
